Re the software - have you tried suggesting AbcExplorer to your piper friends? It&#039;s pretty complete GUI / WYSIWYG experience (including a piano keyboard for note entry). And free.

Oh yes, ABC - well after trying TEX, Piob mhor &amp; other (bagpipe) music notation software, I have been using ABC for years now, for both bagpipe and &#039;normal&#039;/other music. It does pretty much everything I need - pipe music, multiple voices, lyrics/words, formatting, exporting, etc. A great product(s). I try and endorse it whenever I can. It&#039;s a bit like hitting a brick wall when talking to other pipers though - they are hard to wean off the GUI-based notation software :(
