Re: my scores

Just noticed two things: 1) GoudyMedieval font doesn't seem to work on the Mac. this is a limitation, I believe, of the Mac and not a problem with what you have done. 2) The second tune in the file "De mon malheur" will not print out using the current version of EasyABC (which wraps around...

Re: confusion: clef middle-pitch

This seems to imply that clef=bass middle=d is the same as clef=bass octave=-2 , in other words middle= doesn't change what line the clef gets printed on, it changes the name of the note on the middle staff line! By this logic we should expect clef=treble middle=G to move G to the middle line of th...

Re: confusion: clef middle-pitch

Middle is a bit of a muddle, and I'd suggest not using it. Use clef=treble3 and the like to move the clef and use octave to shift octaves to avoid commas on input. This whole thing is currently under discussion (rather acrimonious discussion), and may change, but I think my two suggestions are widel...

Re: PDF Scores on e-readers like Kindle and Nook

Nice work there! As to using abcm2ps: Get EasyABC and install it. It uses abcm2ps to produce the on screen materials, so you can see exactly what you are getting. Then go to http://abcplus.sourceforge.net/#ABCGuide And download the somewhat outdated abcplus guide for information about setting up the...

Re: Help with harmony lines

The easiest suggestion I can give you is this: 1)drop out of the thirds to a fourth where your ear tells you it is needed (examples: last note of bar 1 and last note of bar 4) 2) Unless you really want the "open" sound of the 4th or 5th on the strong beats use a 6th (example use G rather t...

Re: ABC to PNG

I don't understand why you would not want to use the PDF format. I can't see any advantage to PNG at all. Can you enlighten me??

Re: rehearsal marks

Either "^Intro" or P:Intro at the appropriate spot will work.

Re: stemless black noteheads

Hi Jack, If you put a 0 (zero) after the note name that note will be stemless. Try G0 A0 B0 If you use quarter notes as the basic length (L:1/4) this works fine. If you have beamed eighth notes the beam is left hanging in space. I didn't check with detached eighth notes. It does work and displays in...

Re: Multiple repeats

Hi Peter,

One solution is to add the line

P:AAAA

in the header and then define

P:A

in the body.

That will get the right playback, but unfortunately will not match the old "four dot" notation method.
