Re: Lyrics between staves

Hi,
w: lines must follow the corresponding music line, not precede it. The idea is to mimick notation.

Re: To transpose or not ?

Hi Graham, from the version number I conclude that you are talking about ABCexplorer. You must write this full name so that we know what you are talking about. The tool is quite useful, but has its limits and bugs. I have not managed to make it transpose either. If you can work with command lines, C...

Re: Which software is compatible with ABC standard 2.0?

Hi Esn, I have never tried ABC on Linux, but on the software list here (http://abcnotation.com/software) there are some entries for Linux, e.g. JedABC. That tool (as many others) is based on abcm2ps, which supports polyphony and is distantly related to ABC 2.0. Currently a standard 2.1 is being disc...

Re: abc draft standard 2.1

Hi, I have a couple of suggestions for the standard, maybe for a later 3.0. If this is not the right place for them, please move or quote them wherever adequate. 2. An ABC file is a text file. If it starts with a "BOM", it will be considered UTF as indicated. Otherwise, a single-byte codep...

Re: MidiZys2abc: Import MIDI files with embellishments

Hi again, I have decided to offer the switch described above in my version 0.01, now available for download. I adopted the following interpretation of ABC2.0, paragraph 2.3: A line not ending with a backslash shall not force a line break in the printed result. If this is implemented in any software ...

MidiZys2abc: Import MIDI files with embellishments

Hi, Chris and all, the other day I published "yet another" gratis Midi-to-Abc converter, called MidiZyx2abc. The distinguishing mark is to allow the users to use their favourite MIDI sequencer to add certain text marks to their MIDI files (typically large scores ), which are then translate...

Re: XML abc interface?

Thanks, Chris. I have read that discussion, and also on Mudcat, and I am not satisfied yet. Abc to MusicXML should be among the easier tasks to program. To buy yet another gigantic piece of software only for that task seems grotesque overkill. To give a good example, I have published my own tool Mid...

Re: XML abc interface?

Hi, Chris and all of you, the "abc2xml" page you mention seems to support naked notes only. Does anyone know about a more comprehensive solution? A company named "Recordare" offers some rather expensive services and products, who has tried it? I think it would help a lot if we co...
