abcmidi and bytebeats...?

It's just an idea, but could there possibly be a %%bytebeat directive for abcmidi, or at least something similar? I've been looking into a new form of electronic music called "bytebeat", which is explained in more detail here: http://countercomplex.blogspot.com/2011/10/some-deep-analysis-o...

ABC on GitHub

I've just recently created git repositories for the following: abc2prt, abcmidi, the abcplus guide, abctab2ps, microabc, abcm2ps, abcmplugin, abcpp, flabc, & runabc. Additionally, I have some of my own projects for abc there, as well, but I figured it'd be a lot more useful if there was some rev...

Translation directives?

I'm not sure if this can be done, but can we maybe have directives for translating text? The only parts of text I'm referring to are typeset text regions (%%begintext to %%endtext) and lines (%%center and %%text), string based fields, and optionally comments and perhaps free text. The hard part woul...

Re: Abc app for iOS?

Use TEFview. In addition to the features they mentioned, the viewer lets you display fingering positions for an immensely wide array of instruments, from tin whistles to Greek bouzouki and many others in between. :)

Where is PostScript Allowed / Forbidden?

After looking at Hudson Lacerda's source of his guide for making new decorations for abcm2ps to use, I have to ask:

Where is PostScript code permitted, and where is it forbidden?

Plenty of Questions

After having looked deep into how the abc syntax works for some months now, since I'm trying to update Vim's syntax highlighting for it, I think it's safe to say that 'I:' and '%%' directives ought to be completely interchangeable, however, its a bad coding style to do so. On the other hand, 'I:' di...

Re: Some questions about new lines

3) same question about decorations: abc abc !acc\ ent! abc abc 4) and inline instructions: abc abc [K:\ Cm] abc abc - which of these syntaxes is legal and which is not? The first one is definitively legal. As for the second, it LOOKS legal; Have you tested it in with abcm2ps? I spoke too soon. abcm...

Re: Proper startup of Vim syntax script: TeX and HTML?

If all that abc has ever used of HTML is it's character entities, that's been taken care of, I've attached the part of the script that covers how character entities are shown in Vim. This would also show the mnemonics and Unicode character sequences as if they were typed as the original character; t...

Proper startup of Vim syntax script: TeX and HTML?

I'm wondering if it's a good idea to add the HTML & TeX syntax in the same script for loading Vim's syntax highlighting for abc. Basically, this is at the near top of my current syntax script: sy region FreeText start=/^\s*$/ excludenl skip=/\_.$/ excludenl end=/^\s*$/ runtime! syntax/html.vim r...
