Re: The definitive abc standard

I would like to hear the case made for each of the standards before I make my vote. I have opinions but am not sure how much they are based on facts, and I presume that others are in a similar case. Without some discussion any decision must be capricious.

Re: ABC converter

Hi Chris, I'd just like to point out that your table of web-based apps should include the fact that ABC Converter will transpose.

Re: bracket annotation

I see there were no answers for you. Perhaps you should try asking the same question at the abcusers forum here:-

Re: software for printing abc

Update. It occurred to me to directly compare a PDF I made with AbcExplorer some time ago, with exactly the same PDF printed again today, on the same paper, with the same Canon printer. software for printing abc

Abc2Win has excellent printing quality. However, it cannot handle multiple staves and clefs. I use AbcExplorer, which does these things. But it uses abcm2ps for notation, and I find that I am not quite able to obtain the clarity of line of Abc2Win. What (free?) software do other users recommend when...

ABC Plus

Chris, On the page 'Learn ABC' where you discuss the standards 1.6, 1.7.6, and draft standard 2.0, I think a link to the ABC Plus site would have been useful:- http://abcplus.sourceforge.net/#ABCGuide ABC Plus is essentially ABC Version 2.0. A section 'Making Music' includes a link to a manual of AB...

ABC converter

I think the ABC software page should include a link alongside 'Convert-a-matic' to 'ABC Converter':-

http://www.folkinfo.org/songs/abcconvert.php

which is an excellent online converter.

Re: What is your favourite abc software?

I use AbcExplorer, which is is a front end program for PC that uses whatever package of software/version you prefer. By default it downloads abcm2ps and abc2midi, among others.
