"keysig seems to have 9 symbols???"

Hello all.

Im new to abc. Trying to insert a key signature like "C#", I get the error message mentioned in the subject.

This is a slackware linux system, and I am working on a bash shell.

$LANG is set to C. Encoding of the abc-file is set to ascii, and I tried latin1 too.

What am I doing wrong? I searched the documentation and googled...

TIA, erch

I found a solution myself.

It works, when I use the vim editor with the autocommands

if has("autocmd")
:augroup abc
: autocmd BufNewFile,BufRead *.abc setf abc
: autocmd BufNewFile,BufRead,BufEnter *.abc set encoding=latin1
: autocmd BufNewFile,BufRead,BufEnter *.abc set fileencoding=latin1
:augroup END

In this case I have to keep the $LANG environment variable (utf8 with me),
it was not good to change it to C or latin1. With the other text editors I know I did not find a solution.

This is an abc group, so I won't discuss the topic further.
ABC works, and I'm happy with the solution.

Ciao, Erch
