Newbie quick question

I have searched, honest, but can't figure out what:

| x8 | x8 |

means.

What is x? What does the 8 mean? Thought it might be a rest but I have learned that is a z.

Thx for any help.

Simon

Invisible rest (used in multivoice music) - see http://abcnotation.com/wiki/abc:standard:v2.1#rests

I can indicate this easily with "sm" in the note text, but that does not affect the playback of the music. I've added a J which seems about right to my ear, but my ear is hardly to be trusted in such things. I notice I could also use !slide! as well.
