Using abc with Wordpress

I have a Wordpress blog (private at this stage but soon to be made public) and want to make my abc tunebooks (currently held as abc files on my windows pc) available to visitors. I looked for a Wordpress plugin to help, but found only one, called ScoreRender , that is no longer supported or downloadable. Does anyone know an alternative?

Failing that, my best bet seems to be to host my tunebooks online and link to the online location from Wordpress. Possibilities that occur to me are holding tunebooks in a public folder in Dropbox (but that would just give access to the raw files) or hosting my abc tunebooks on a third party site such as or The Session

Has anyone any experience of doing this, particularly in Wordpress, that they can share?

You can upload the abc file or a pdf version using media upload and then use the link tool in the post editor to provide a link to the uploaded file.

I plan to make a plugin for this soon. How would you like to use it? I can see putting the ABC string in a shortcode, perhaps. Or it could be controlled with a javascript call. Or it could just find all the strings on the page that start with X: and translating them. Anyway, in the meantime, you could download and include this javascript file in your theme: ... .12-min.js Then anything that looks like ABC code will be translated.
