Voices in one section only? (abcm2ps)

Postby daldred » Fri Jun 26, 2009 9:41 pm

Wow, I'm the first to post in this section :-)

I use abc mainly to create transposed music for hymns for the music group at my church. I've been asked to produce msuic for a hymn which has a unison chorus, and separate voices in the verses; I'd prefer to get it all on one page if possible, so simply producing five identical voices for the chorus isn't ideal.

Is there any way in which I can make abcm2ps produce the music with a single 'voice' for the chorus (which comes before the verses the first time round) and then break into separate parts for the verses?

Ok, found the answer. The %%score directive can be used to achieve this.

It's a bummer that BarFly never offered this capability.

I used to have information about the %%score midi directive written down, but I can't find it now -- would you repost that for me, please?

Could you tell me how you did this - I'm trying to do something similar. Did you have to write out all the identical parts in abc? Thanks.
