Double stops and Slides

Postby bob little » Tue Jul 05, 2011 3:05 pm

I'm trying to record a fiddle tune and I've got two things I can't figure out how to notate:-
1. A double stop, where both strings are playing the same note
2. A slide onto a note

Anyone got any ideas?

1. [AA] - see http://abcnotation.com/wiki/abc:standar ... nd_unisons
2. !slide! - see http://abcnotation.com/wiki/abc:standar ... ecorations (although the notation is in the process of changing and some software may expect +slide+ instead).

I'm trying to transcribe a shanty for the "Full English" project which includes a slide. I've tried !slide! and +slide+ but they don't produce anything like the symbol used in the MS, which is a bold line linking two notes directly. I'm using ABC Explorer, and those commands produce a small curl before the note following the command. Any ideas?
