BBC Radio 4 is shortly to broadcast a programme featuring abc and its impact on the world of traditional music.

Entitled "From Dots to Downloads", the programme documents the use of abc music notation in the rediscovery of old manuscript tune-books from the 18th and 19th centuries.

The programme goes out on 21st July at 1.30pm and will be available to listen again for 7 days after the broadcast.

It features interviews with Chris Walshaw, inventor of abc, and John Adams of the Village Music Project and is presented by singer and musician, Tim van Eyken.

Listen to programme (between July 21st - 31st)
