Multiple repeats

Hello all, my name is Pete Dunk, I live in Kent and I'm a new poster here although I've been using abc for some years. I'm working on an old manuscript (Village Music Project) and I need to reproduce the old fashioned 'play 4 times' symbol which uses a dot in each of the spaces of the stave instead of the usual two generated by |:

Can this be done in abc? Thanks in anticipation!

Hi Peter,

One solution is to add the line

P:AAAA

in the header and then define

P:A

in the body.

That will get the right playback, but unfortunately will not match the old "four dot" notation method.
