H:Dave MacIsaac learned this traditional tune from home recordings of Ranald Kennedy and Mary "Hughie" MacDonald.
Although Dave supplied the first two turns in Allister MacGillivary's book The Cape Breton Fiddler (1981),
he now thinks of it as a 4 part structure hence the title and my  arrangement.
On her CD, Andrea plays turns 3 and 4 only, using the title New Year's Day.
The title New Years's Day usually belongs to another, old style strathspey (see Simon Fraser Collection etc.)
