N:First printed by Rutherford about 1756 in the third volume
N:of the "Compleat Collection of 200 of the most celebrated
N:Country Dances" (106).  He called it "The Wild Irishman".
N:"Norickystie" was Aird's title ("A Selection of Scottish,
N:English, Irish and Foreign Airs", 1,143) (c.1782), and a
N:translation of this name, "Nora with the Purse", was
N:Bunting's title for it in his third collection (1840).  Thomas
N:Moore wrote "Wreathe the Bowl" to this air.  O'Neill's
N:"The Road to Lurgan" is a poor version (O'N i [Dance
N:Music of Ireland], 94).  "Kiss me, darling" is another
N:O'Neill version in the "Music of Ireland" (920).  O'Neill
N:re-printed "The Wild Irishman", the version of
