N:Genthon then aged 82, had placed first in 1926 for the Manitoba Champion Cup for
N: fiddling.  He earned the tune from his father, who had learned
N:the tune in 1842 from a man named Latourelle, who had newly arrived in Rede
N:River from Quebec. Latourelle said the tune was known in Quebec as "La
N:Gigue du Bac-Canada."
