Normandie Quadrilles 3. WmT.138 - staff notation
X:138
T:Normandie Quadrilles 3. WmT.138
B:Wm Titley MS, Shropshire UK, circa1860s
N:The ms always follows a barred dotted crotchet with a crotchet, with the exception of bar 9, which ostensibly
N:gives one less quaver than needed.
N:Maybe Wm Titley meant the barred dotted crotchet to be played as triplet quavers unlike current practice where
N:it is shorthand for three quavers. Or having dotted it in bar 9, he then means all subsequent occurrences to be dotted.
N:I will leave it as in the ms and leave it to the reader to decide.
